Orabank is committed to taking parts in efforts to improve education and health care.

Faithful to its calling of working towards the well-being of communities in the countries where it operates, the Orabank group has run a range of social programmes through its subsidiaries and their branches. The Orabank group engages by organising volunteering and charitable events, and supporting projects relating to education and sport.

  • Project in support of victims of sexual violence in the context of International Day of the Girl Child

  • Organisation of a range of social, religious and cultural events
  • Renovation of a documentation and IT centre

  • Days of free screening for conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.

Charity race in Togo

Orabank was one of the main partners in the first charity race for students in Togo to offer cost-free financial grants for the wining participants.

Promoting communities’ well-being and development

  • Support for an NGO that offers eye tests
  • Support for the Ivorian Pathology Society (SIP), in the form of financial aid for medical research
  • Free screenings for women (cervix and breast cancer)
  • 2018: free “Noël pour Tous” (Christmas for everyone) meal for the NGO Sant’Egidio
  • Employees’ involvement in charitable programmes for an NGO set up to help children with Down’s syndrome
  • Financial aid for an NGO that promotes French-language literary authors with an annual prize and an inter-school competition to promote French literature

  • Collection of clothes from all staff and distribution to three orphanages; funds allocated for buying medicines and for keeping three orphans in school
  • Service offered in branch to make it easier to apply for identity cards from the police and passports from the documents and immigration service
  • Replacement of the computers in Port-Gentil City Hall
  • Donation of an electronic screening device to a health centre to combat sickle-cell anaemia
  • During Ramadan, Orabank makes donations to three NGOs, including Marmite du Partage
  • Orabank takes part in medical caravans, in the form of cash donations, and of screening and vaccination programmes against hepatitis B
  • Fund-raising from employees in support of people in difficulty (CFA F800,000 collected)
  • Collection of clothing for distribution in poor neighbourhoods, in partnership with Marmite du Partage
  • Cleaning-up programme in partnership with an NGO, with employees taking part in cleaning neighbourhoods hit by flooding

  • Orabank supported the project to build a kindergarten with a CFA F19 million donation
  • Lunch was provided for 80,000 disadvantaged schoolchildren in partnership with the Ministry of Education (cost CFA F15 million)
  • Orabank funded the purchase of computers for the 1,000 first students to sign up for the programme with the Nana Anè Foundation (CFA F20 million grant)
  • Orabank also supports programmes promoting health, contributing the donation of an ultrasound machine to the renovation of Lomé Polyclinic
  • In-kind donations of CFA F7 million for Muslim religious confraternities and Christian communities
  • Donations to increase social progress amounting to CFA F5 million
